Microsoft MVP for the third year

Dear Tomas Dabasinskas,Электродрели и шуруповерты

Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2012 Microsoft® MVP Award! This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with others. We appreciate your outstanding contributions in Windows Expert-Consumer technical communities during the past year.

The text above is from the email I’ve got a week ago. The email, I was anxiously waiting for a while. I have been Microsoft MVP for two years and I was hoping to get the award for the third year, during July selection. And that happened! I’m MVP for the third year in Windows Expert-Consumer category.

I am really looking forward to this new year, hoping I will manage to give myself to MVP activities even more then the years before. This is the year Windows 8 will be released so, as Windows Expert-Consumer MVP, it should bring be a lot of opportunities for activities.

And as every year, I would like to thank you, Microsoft, for the award and opportunity to be part of this great community. Thanks!

Major refresh

If you reading this post, that means you already seeing the new design of my blog. Well, unless you’re reading it via RSS. If that’s the case, feel free to open the post directly to see the changes made.

Idea of refreshing design of my blog was in my head for a while. I really wanted something in Metro style. Unfortunately, there are not so much metro-like themes for WordPress. That’s the ones I was able to find:

The problem was that none of them looked the way I imagined my blog. Also, most of them are not free. Continue reading

Zend Certified PHP 5.3 Engineer

Since I was working with PHP and WEB development in general for a quite time (about 5 years), I really wanted to get myself the PHP Zend certificate. The problem was that I either haven’t enough time or free money for the exam. Couple months ago I’ve got lucky when Zend started beta certification for PHP 5.3. I filled the online survey and got selected to get this examination for free.

There wasn’t much time for the preparation since I had two weeks till my scheduled exam. Good thing was that I had Zend PHP 5 Certification Study Guide book read before. Because of that and the skills I had from the past PHP development I was quite confident with my general PHP knowledge. The problem was that I haven’t done any project with version 5.3 of PHP in particular. So what I did was reading a few blogs and watching presentations about new features of PHP 5.3 (namespaces, lambda functions, late static binding etc). As I mentioned before, when I was thinking about Zend certification year ago, I was sure I’m going to get at least couple test vouchers but this time I decided not to spend money on them. The new beginning

Since July 2010 I’m one of Microsoft`s MVPs in Windows Desktop Experience category. I’m really exited about this award and ready to work even more to keep MVP status for more than a year.

Currently, I have a local blog named WinBlog. Also I write a lot to our local community portal named MugIT, which I’m one of the co-founders of . Since I would like to reach a wider audience, I decided to have this little blog where I could share my knowledge in English. While I try to share as much content as I can on my local sites, I’m thinking of writing less here but keeping my posts more informative and useful. Most articles here should be technical and related to my MVP category – Windows Desktop Experience.

By the way, as you’ve probably already noticed, my English is far from perfect. but hope you will be able to understand everything. Feel free to correct my spelling/grammar in the comments since it would help me to improve my English.Штукатурка стен цементно песчаным раствором

So, that was a little introduction of this blog and myself. See you all in the next post.
